BACHELOR OF SCIENCE IN ARCHITECTURE

The practice of architecture is the act of planning and architectural designing, structural conceptualization, designing of built structures and their environment, specifying, supervising and giving general administration and responsible direction to the erection or alterations of buildings and building environments and architectural design in engineering structures or any part thereof; the scientific, aesthetic, and orderly coordination of all the processes with enter into the production of a complete building structure, performed through the medium of unbiased preliminary studies of plans, consultations, specifications, conferences, evaluation, investigations, contract documents and oral advice and directions

Program Education Objectives (PEOs)

The objectives of the Bachelor of Science in Architecture are to develop the following outcomes:

  1. perform standard competencies in accordance with the scope of the global and local practice of architecture
  2. show traits of professionalism, sense of responsibility, equality and patriotism
  3. receptiveness to new ideas and knowledge through scientific research
  4. direct and focus the thrust of architecture education to the needs and demands of society and its integration into the social, economic, cultural and environmental aspects of nation building
  5. instil understanding of the basic philosophy and fundamental principles of the multi-dimensional aspects of architecture, and the direct relationship between man and his environment

Departmental Goals

  1. provide students with essential concepts and theories of learning in the core areas of  Architecture that will enable the students to develop their own critical thinking and  skills in designing and construction management
  2. provide students understanding and awareness on ethical standards in architecture, on issues with global, economic and social impact, to the society and environment
  3. produce competent, innovative and customer driven architecture students and professionals who are aware and respectful of their social-cultural heritage in the delivery of quality service
  4. produce architecture would be professional students who are not only creative in designing, but also imbued with analytical mind and knows how to interpret data

Departmental Objectives

By the time of graduation the students shall possess the following:

  1. ability to employ, interpret, and apply the learning, knowledge, concept making, analyzing theories and other major areas of architecture concerns
  2. ability to demonstrate critical thinking of their own and practice their skill in designing and construction management in accordance with quality standards
  3. ability to discuss and manage the impact of architecture design, in the greening the local and global environment in the context of social, economic, political, ethical and other architectural issues
  4. ability to identify and solve architectural problems arising from a layout/plan and any other areas of major concern on Architecture Design Planning
