Wisdom, dedication, and determination – these are the characteristics of a hero teacher that Ms. Madel Sardane to her former teacher, Teacher Ma. Felicidad “Fely” Roque of the Alternative Learning System (ALS) at Barangay Bagong Sikat Community Learning Center (CLC) in Palawan.
Madel’s story is that her dream in life is to graduate to become a full-fledged entrepreneur and youth learning advocate. Madel mentioned the important lessons that Teacher Fely contributed to her academic success.
“Good traditions must be believed and only those that are appropriate for each generation. And above all, always be ready to help students to develop and fulfill their dreams.”
In addition, Madel said that her former teacher always insisted that she never give up on her dreams and always look back to where she came from. He said, “He always said that ‘I’m proud of your abilities’ so I decided to continue with what I started no matter how difficult the trials came.”
“If there is one thing I want to achieve in life, it is to become a successful business woman and my dream is to return to Ma’am Fely one day so that I can be part of her mission to help young people change their lives and become successful ,” said Madel who will graduate this year from the Marketing Management course at FullBright College.
This National Teachers’ Month celebration, Madel offered a message of gratitude for all the help Teacher Fely has done for her. “Because of your advice and kindness, my heart has been revived and I have been more persistent in life. If it wasn’t for you, I wouldn’t be where I am today.”
