The municipality of Nueva Era has a land area of 515.02 square kilometers or 198.85 square miles which constitutes 15.06% of Ilocos Norte’s total area. Its population as determined by the 2020 Census was 11,968. This represented 1.96% of the total population of Ilocos Norte province, or 0.23% of the overall population of the Ilocos Region. Based on these figures, the population density is computed at 23 inhabitants per square kilometer or 60 inhabitants per square mile.
