The Department of Education (DepEd) has started early registration for the upcoming Kindergarten, Grades 1, 7, and 11 students in public schools starting May 10 to June 9, 2023.

In a recently issued order, DepEd stressed that all incoming students who will be enrolled in Kindergarten and Grades 1, 7, and 11 in all public elementary and secondary schools to pre-register or join the early registration to give the Department the opportunity to make the necessary preparations and adjust plans for the coming School Year.

On the other hand, incoming Grades 2-6, 8-10, and 12 students from public schools are considered pre-registered and are not required to participate in early registration. In private schools, they are encouraged to conduct their respective activities for early registration that are the same as the set period.

For early registration, face-to-face transactions with schools are encouraged, but they may continue to use other methods for the collection of registration forms. Schools Division Superintendents and School Heads will lead advocacy campaigns in their respective constituencies and encourage Out of School Children (OSC) and parents/guardians of prospective students to participate in early registration.

In addition, the policy mandates all public elementary and secondary schools to update or encode daily the Early Registration facility in the Learner Information System (LIS) using the school head or administrator account.

Schools will use the print or electronic copies of the Basic Education Enrollment Form (Revised as of March 27, 2023) to ensure that the necessary information for the registration of incoming students in Kindergarten, Grades 1, 7, and 11, and other data are properly obtained.

In addition, schools can also encode in the Early Registration facility, prospective enrollees for other grade levels (Grades 2-6, 8-10, and 12) based on previous school enrollment to obtain the total expected enrollees for the next enrollment.
