About Calog Sur Elementary School

Calog Sur Elementary School is a public institution accredited by the Department of Education (DepED) that offers Elementary School for Kinder and Grade 1 to Grade 6. The Department of Education supervises all elementary and secondary schools, both public and private.

Calog Sur Elementary School was founded in 1948 through the leadership of the late Tiniente del Barrio Simeon Gerardo. It was a primary school composed of two (2) combination classes of Grades I and II; and Grades III and IV respectively. Number of pupils were enrolled during this times. Classrooms were made up of nipa and bamboo.

Because of the growing population of the barangay and the community people gave interest in educating their children, there was a remarkable growing number of enrollees. The primary school then was converted into a complete elementary school in 1952, thereby classes were already opened from Grade I to Grade VI. It was headed by Maam Salud Paraggua.

In 1955, the community people through the initiative of some civic oriented people erected concrete school buildings enough to house the pupils from all grade level. Development was made so fast that in 1970’s school buildings were made permanent for everybody’s security. Up to this years lot of development and progress still came into existence.

The school is located at Calog Sur, Abulug, Cagayan along the Maharlika Highway. It has a total land area of Nineteen Thousand Four Hundred square meters (19,400 sq. m.) which was donated by the late Hon. Congressman Florencio L. Vargas in 1983 to the Ministry of Education through the former Supervisor the late Rosita Curammeng and the School Head then was the late Pelagia P. Altre.

The school populace comes from the eight puroks of the barangay namely; Purok Proper, Purok Puttot, Purok Lattuac, Purok Basigiuan A, Purok Basigiuan B, Purok Inner A, Purok Inner B, Purok Cuba and a part of Junction Libertad a nearby barangay of Calog Sur.

  • Senior Kindergarten: at least 5 years of age and above
  • Grade One: at least 6 years of age and above

REGISTRATION AND ENROLLMENT REQUIREMENTS

  • Clear copy of Birth Certificate
  • Photocopy of Report Card / Transcript of Records
  • Certificate of Good Moral Character (Grade 1- 12)
