Baliwag Polytechnic College (BTECH) is Public Higher Education Institution that offers free tuition fee for various degree programs and courses administered and regulated by the Commission on Higher Education (CHED) and the Department of Education (DepED).

The Baliwag Polytechnic College, or BTECH as it is more commonly known, was established in 2008 by the late Mayor Romeo M. Estrella to help propel the educational pursuits of the less privileged youth of Baliuag and the nearby towns. With only 429 students in eight programs at the beginning, the College now is continuously growing not only in terms of student population and program offerings, but also has produced thousands of college graduates, among them are certified public accountants and professional licensed teachers.

As a recognized higher educational institution by the Commission on Higher Education (CHED), BTECH has been granted the benefits of free tuition and miscellaneous fees for its qualified college students by the Unified Student Financial Assistance System (UNIFAST) per the provision of RA 10931, otherwise known as Universal Access to Quality Tertiary Education Act.

ENROLLMENT PROCEDURES

COLLEGE FRESHMEN AND TRANSFEREES (NEW STUDENTS)

Step 1 – APPOINTMENT

The applicant (new student/transferee) must schedule an appointment with the college using this link www.btech.edu.ph/appointment

Step 2 – ADMISSION OFFICE

During the scheduled/limited face-to-face appointment, the applicant (student/guardian/APOR) must bring the following requirements in a long brown envelop:

  • 2 pcs 2×2 picture with white background (Last Name, First Name, Middle Initial written at the back of the picture)
  • Original Form 138 (for SHS Graduate) / Transcript of Records (for transferees)
  • Original Good Moral Certificate (for SHS Graduate)  / Honorable Dismissal (for transferees)
  • Photocopy of PSA Birth Certificate
  • Photocopy of SHS Diploma

The applicant is required to completely accomplish the application/admission Form from the Admission Office. All the requirements and the filled-out admission form will be validated by the Admission Officer.

Step 3 – INSTITUTE

The applicant shall be directed to the office of the Dean of his/her chosen program for assessment interview, accomplishment of enrolment from, pre-advising of the subjects to be taken for the semester and assessment of fees.

Step 4 – OFFICE OF THE COLLEGE REGISTRAR

The applicant shall be given his/her corresponding student number upon submission of all the required documents.

A student is deemed officially enrolled after the submission of all appropriate admission documents. These documents shall become property of Baliwag Polytechnic College. The Office of the College Registrar shall provide transfer credentials should the student opt to transfer to another higher education institution.

Step 5 – CASHIER / WINDOW 1

The Cashier shall check the assessed fees in the enrolment form and shall post/encode the data in the BTech system.

Step 6 – OFFICE OF THE COLLEGE REGISTRAR

A Certificate of Registration (COR) shall be issued to the student as official document and proof of enrolment upon the submission of the accomplished enrolment form to the College Registrar.

RETURNING, IRREGULAR AND OLD STUDENTS (ONLINE ENROLLMENT)

  • Visit Official BTech account or proceed to enroll.btech.edu.ph. The link is accessible from 8am to 5pm, Monday to Thursday only.
  • Log in your user name/s. This is an account provided by BTech. The password will be given to you by your Program Directors which you can later change to your preference.
  • Complete the information in the google form.
  • You may claim your COR & Copy of grades (previous semester) from your respective Program Director/s at a later date.

Student may secure their Form at the Admission Office from Monday to Thursday 8:00am to 5:00pm.
Securing the application form will be the first step to be able to take the Admission Entrance Examination.

HISTORICAL HIGHLIGHTS

2008

June 2008       

Enrollment started in the College with the following courses initially offered:

  • Hotel and Restaurant Services (HRS)
  • Computer Electronics Technology (CET)
  • Information Technology (IT)

Classes were held at the second floor of the formerly Saint Augustine College Building and at the first floor of the Old Municipal Building. A total of 429 students made up the first set of BTech enrollees.

There were 209 students enrolled in Hotel and Restaurant Services, 178 in Information Technology and 42 in Computer Electronics Technology.

2009

June 2009       

On its second year of operation, 962 students enrolled in courses offered by the College.

August 28, 2009

Enrolment increased and the College transferred to the newly renovated building located at the 2nd floor of Star Mall Building (BMG Building), Poblacion, Baliwag, Bulacan. It was inaugurated by Honorable Mayor Romeo M. Estrella and the then OIC-College President Enrique V. Tagle, together with numerous luminaries from various fields and industries in the whole Province of Bulacan. It was also the celebration of the College 2nd Foundation Anniversary.

Offices that started to open were those of the Administration, Registrar, and Admission and Guidance.

November 17, 2009

The College President spearheaded a round-table discussion that tackled different ideas and thoughts and answered questions from students on proper choices of programs and job opportunities.

2010

June 2010

The College program, Bachelor of Science in Hospitality and Restaurant Management (BSHRM) was given authority to operate by CHED for academic year 2010-2011. The faculty members were affiliated to COHREP (Council of Hotel and Restaurant Education of the Philippines) a basic requirement by the Department of Hospitality Industry. Likewise the department had its MOA with five-star hotels in Manila, like Heritage Hotel, Sofitel Philippine Plaza, and others for the students’ internship.

The First Annual Institutional Strategic Planning Seminar was held. It was facilitated by Prof. Ricardo Palo, Director for Curriculum Development of the Ateneo de Manila University Graduate School of Business.

March 22, 2010

The First Commencement Exercises with Atty. Adel Tamayo as Guest Speaker was held at the SM Event Center. Two hundred Fifty (250) students graduated from two-year technical-vocational courses.

August 1, 2010        

The 2nd BUKLURAN or the Freedom Run was organized and successfully held to welcome incoming freshman students of the College. It was also the formal visit of the Regional Quality Assessment Team (RQAT) of CHED. BTech started to offer the following CHED Programs:

CABITE (College of Accountancy, Business, Information Technology and Engineering) welcomed its first dean, former chair of San Beda College of Accountancy Program, Mr. Raymond A. Abrea, CPA, MBA.

The College conducted the Standard First Aid Seminar and Fire and Earthquake Drill.

August 9, 2010

Enrique V. Tagle was installed as the First President of the College by the Sangguniang Bayan, Municipality of Baliwag.

October 8, 2010       

The Office of Student Affairs was established with the appointment of the first Prefect of Discipline, Mrs. Carolina San Juan and Prefect of Activities, Mr. Emerson Perez. At the same time, the Director of Admissions and Aids, Guidance and Other Services (AAGOS), Ms. Jennelyn Marcelo, was also appointed.

December 22, 2010

BTech celebrated the First Faculty Follies entitled “PASKWELA”. It was successfully participated in and attended by faculty members and administrators.

The First “Leadership Business Conference” was conducted with Prof. Bernie Villegas as Keynote Speaker, and Atty. Alex Lacson, Prof. Harvey Key and Mr. Diether Ocampo as resource speakers.

The students conducted their 4th Student Council Election.

The Social Science Department led the discussion on “Kaunlaran: Forum on the CITYHOOD of Baliwag” held at SM City Event Center.

BTech 2nd Commencement Exercises was held at SM Event Center with Dr. Neric Acosta as Commencement Speaker. Two hundred Eighty two (282) students graduated from two-year technical-vocational courses.

April 5-6, 2011

The Administration and Faculty conducted the 2nd Annual Institutional Development Planning at the present La Jardin Baliwag Home of Divine Mercy & Retreat House, Catulinan, Baliuag, Bulacan.

September 2011

The Skills Management Institute started its successful operation in A.Y. 2011, when it opened courses in Programming NCIV, Visual Graphics Design NCIII, Computer Hardware Servicing NCII, Bookkeeping NCIII and Food and Beverage NCII as the permits for these courses were granted by TESDA.

The College conducted the 1st BTech Integration Party.

November 24, 2011

The College held the Annual Executive Management Conference sponsored by the business and engineering students with Prof. Eloisa P. Tinio, Mr. Edgar Lance L. Capulong, Bro. Michael Angelo F. Lobrin and Ms. Jane Anne Barrido, MSIS as resource speakers and hosted by Mr. Luke Jickain.

The College of Education selected the Mr. and Ms. BTech Education 2012 held at Activity Center of the college.

March 8, 2012

The College started to be a member of the People Management Association of the Philippines (PMAP). The PMAP BTech Chapter joined the Summit in Lingayen, Pangasinan.

March 19, 2012

The 3rd Commencement Exercises with Bulacan Governor Hon. Wilhelmino M. Sy-Alvarado as Guest Speaker was held at the SM Event Center. Two hundred Thirty One (231) students graduated from CHED Programs and TESDA courses.

April 24-25, 2012

Three (3) students passed the Object-Oriented Programming NC IV and five (5) students passed the Computer Hardware Servicing NC II.

May 8-11, 2012

The 3rd Annual Institutional Development Planning of the BTech Administration was conducted in the Island of Boracay, Aklan.

June 2012       

The College was able to establish linkages and affiliations with educational agencies like the Bulacan Association of Technical Schools (BATS) and to coordinate with the Provincial Office of TESDA and the Association of Local Colleges and Universities (ALCU).

With the offering of degree courses, the enrollment in the College rose to more than double.

The College joined TESDA educational and cultural competitions where BTech students garnered places in IT software, WEB page design, and Dance Sport categories.

The College signed a Memorandum of Agreement with Far Eastern University where the College would be a Center of Development in IT Education.

The Groundbreaking Ceremony for the construction of BTech Administration and Academic Buildings was held at Brgy. Pagala. The buildings were supposed to be made available for occupancy in November of 2014.

August 24, 2012                           

The Social Science department of the college conducted a Bulacan Women Symposium at the SM City Event Center with the theme “The Filipino Women and their Contribution in Nation Building”. Guest speakers are Misses Merlee Cruz-Jaymee, Risa Hontiveros-Baraquel, Susan Ople and Mabel Villarica-Mamba.

BTech Society of Information Technologist and Engineers (BSITE) now known as Student Society on Information Technology Education (SSITE) conducted a community outreach project.

CABITE conducted an Executive Leadership Conference with the theme “Delivering Excellence through Empowerment and Good Governance for Nation Building at the SM Event Center, SM City, Baliwag, Bulacan.

The Education Department conducted a seminar with the theme: “Today We Must Create the World of the Future”.

Education Department conducted a community outreach project through developing interest in reading among daycare pupils using stories in the Big Book.

The Summer English Proficiency Test was administered and the LET Review was conducted. Mr. Dan Angelo Bagadiong, a BEED graduate, took the LET and was among the top ten placers.

The BTech IT and Engineering Department co-hosted the Regional Student Conference in Information Technology Education held at the Baliwag Gymnasium (now Star Arena), Baliuag, Bulacan with the theme “IT Gateways Information Technology: Giving  A New Transition in Education for a Wider Access in Youth Society”. It was attended by more than 3,000 delegates.

The 5th Commencement Exercises with Honorable Senator Miriam Defensor Santiago as Guest Speaker was held at the Baliwag Star Arena. Three hundred Eighty Six (386) students graduated from CHED Programs and TESDA courses.

BSA students, Ms. Princess Babylyn P. Moises and Ms. Jaycy R. Fernando, won the 2nd and 4th places in the SGV Cup during the 1st Regional Academic District Summit held at Bulacan State University, City of Malolos, Bulacan.

The College of Accountancy, Business Administration, Information Technology, in coordination with Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas, had a lecture on Philippine Currency and Counterfeit as a feature of the Founding Anniversary of BTech.

BTech was able to join for the first time the Youth Congress on Information Technology held at the SMX Convention Center, Pasay City, where a BTech student, Ms. Danica Rose Magtubog, won a Samsung ATIV PC from Accenture.

November 26, 2014                 

The first observance of the National Book week was held with the theme: “Philippine Libraries, Future Possibilities.”  A shower of book donations came from student organizations, faculty members and administration officials. Dr. Juan C. Buenrostro of Baliuag University was the guest speaker.

The 6th Commencement Exercises with Honorable Senator Antonio F. Trillanes IV as Guest Speaker was held at the Baliwag Star Arena. Four hundred Twenty (420) students graduated from CHED Programs and TESDA courses.

Summer 2015

Two (2) students had their training respectively at Holiday Inn and Hotel Dusit in Florida, USA for 3 months where they were promised employment upon their return there because of their good performance.

March, 2015

The BEED LET examinees got 72.22% passing percentage while the BSED examinees got 22.22% passing percentage.

July 21, 2015

Dean Aida Ramos and three (3) faculty members, Ms. Mary Ann de Jesus, Ms. Maureen Caluag, and Mr. Jason Bacosa, attended the convention on the use of Objective-Based Education (OBE) Syllabi in the HRM and Tourism curricula at Holiday Inn, Clark, Pampanga.

Arjerlie Ferrer and Miss Princess Joy Villanueva had their successful training at Holiday Inn Hotel, Destin, Florida for three (3) months. It was very fulfilling experience to the two trainees for because of their good performance, they were already considered hired upon their return to Florida. They received $10.00/hour and had extra job at Wal Mart.

The 7th Commencement Exercises with Honorable Senator Panfilo Lacson as Guest Speaker was held at the Baliwag Star Arena. Four hundred Six (406) students graduated from CHED Programs and TESDA courses.

September 27, 2016

Sixty-one (61) delegates from BTech composed of 56 students from BS Information Technology and BS Computer Engineering, and five (5) faculty members, attended the 14th Youth Congress on Information Technology held in SMX Convention Center, Manila.

October 2016

The first batch of Tourism graduating students applied for on-the-job training in USA, passed the initial interview and were to leave by March 2017.

October 12, 2016

A Symposium on Prohibited Drugs was conducted at the Star Arena. The symposium was attended by 915 administrative office personnel, deans, program directors, heads of offices, faculty members, and students from the senior high school and college departments. The first speaker was Ms. Angelica Ramos, a registered nurse, who gave the talk of Dr. Mary Joan DJ. Dinlasan, the Municipal Health Officer. The Harmful Effects of Prohibited Drugs and other government health concerns was discussed by the second speaker, SPO1 Emiliano Jalova, the administrative officer of the Baliwag PNP, who took the place of Police Chief, Supt. Froilan Uy. SPO1 Jalova talked on the following:

December 14, 2016

The Municipality of Baliwag held an annual Pasko sa Kalye Street Dancing Competition with the theme “Makulay at Maningning na Paskong Baliwagenyo.” Forty (40) Senior High School students represented BTech in the said competition.

December 20, 2016

BTech joined the Annual Municipal Christmas Party with the theme: “A Magical Christmas”. The BTech staff and faculty won the First Place in the Christmas Presentation Contest with a cash prize of Php 30,000.00.

December 21, 2016

The BTech Institutional Christmas Party with the theme “It’s Time for Us to Jingle and Mingle” was held at the BTech Lobby at 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. headed by College President, Atty. Robert John I. Donesa. On the same day, BTech also held a Christmas Choral Competition in support of the Christmas activities of the Municipality at the Glorietta Park.

After winning the Christmas Chorale Competition organized by the institution last December 21, 2016, CABITE Chorale was officially established and renamed as the BTECH Singing Ambassadors headed by Mr. Felipe Carlo O. The 8th Commencement Exercises with Honorable Senator Joel Villanueva as Guest Speaker was held at the Baliwag Star Arena. Five hundred Three (503) students graduated from CHED Programs and TESDA courses.

May 2017

Free mathematics and English Review to interested and desirous 3rd and 4th year Education students was conducted by Prof. Emiterio L. Tiburcio, Ed.D.

Ervin Renz M. Basilio of BSA Batch 2016 passed the Certified Public Accountant (CPA) Board Examination witn 25% passing percentage.

The 4th Installation and Pinning Ceremony of Pre-Service Teachers was held on July 26, 2017 at the SM Event Center with Mr. Jorge Allan R. Tengco as guest speaker.
